Aphotic zone

The portion of a lake or ocean where there is little or no sunlight, typically receiving less than 1% of surface sunlight and precluding photosynthesis.

Benthic Zone

The ecological region at the lowest level of a body of water such as an ocean, lake, or stream, including the sediment surface and some sub-surface layers.

Eggnog

A traditional rich, chilled, sweetened dairy-based beverage traditionally made with milk, cream, whipped egg whites, and egg yolks, often spiked with alcohol such as rum, brandy, or bourbon.
